The
contract administration phase is the portion of the project
that involves the placing of orders for all the furniture
and equipment, as well as the construction and installation
work. On site supervision means we will make occasional trips
to the job site as needed to be sure that all furniture and
furnishings are being installed properly. Certain phases of
the project require that the designer be on the job site for
substantial periods of time other phases require only a short
visit once a day or every few days. Work supervision, along
with the ordering of merchandise and letting of construction
contracts, occurs during this phase along with coordination
and cooperation with the architect, general contractor, and
subcontractors which is necessary to ensure that the handling
of the overall project is accomplished smoothly. The overseeing
of delivery and installation of FF&E and final presentation
of the project concludes the design project.
All post installation or post occupancy activities are an
acknowledged as part of the contract administration process.
This includes a final site inspection called a walk through,
where the designer with the client determines if there are
any omissions or damages. Notations are made on a form, called
the punch list, from the punch list both client and designer
can distinguish if any alterations need to be made and all
the fixtures and fitting are in place and no damage has been
made.
