We spend on average 90% of our time indoors, and the indoor environment can be up to 50 times more polluted than the outside. The effect of poor indoor air quality has a grave impact on our health both physically and psychologically. Holistic design can make a positive contribution to preventative healthcare and promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
The first step is to remove toxic materials and pollutants from the indoor environment, many of these come from furnishings, paints, carpets, floorings and cleaning products which release harmful VOCs (Volatile organic compounds) into our atmosphere. Other pollutants come from poor ventilation, dust mites, pet dander, fireplaces, woodstoves, HVAC, mould, heating and cooking, and pesticides. Once the home has a full health check we will eradicate the pollutants and toxins causing possible health problems then we can move on to creating a beautiful interior scheme.
Holistic design creates healthy spaces to live and work, where we can thrive and live healthy happy lives while being kind to the environment and our well-being. The holistic design pays particular attention to the intricacies of the home that are often overlooked: such as light, colour, aroma, texture, shape, scale and personal space.

Using renewable resources such as the sun, wind, and water for most of your energy needs. Green, environmentally friendly materials that are non-toxic, non-polluting and sustainable, materials that have low energy, environmental and social costs. Design homes that regulate energy, heating, cooling, lighting, and water consumption.
Provide homes with adequate re-cycling space. Provide fresh air, natural air flow and ventilation, natural daylight, clean water, proper humidity and negative ion balance. An area where you feel secure, protected and insulated from noise, a place that feels visually and mentally uplifting.
